S & W Plumbing ("we", "us", "our") is a plumbing business based in Birkdale, Queensland, ABN 69 792 955 926. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can get it changed or deleted.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to quote and carry out plumbing work. Depending on how you contact us, that may include:

• Contact details — your name, phone number and, if you email us, your email address.
• Job details — your suburb, the service you need, and anything you tell us about the problem.
• Site address and job records — if you go ahead with work, the address we attend and a record of what we did.
• Basic technical information — when you submit a form we record the IP address and browser type of the submission. This is used only to block spam and abuse.

We don't collect sensitive information (such as health or financial records), and we don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this website.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, provide a quote, schedule and complete the work, invoice you, and keep the job records a licensed plumber is required to keep. If you've asked us to, we may also contact you about follow-up or maintenance work. We do not sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing by anyone else.

Where it's stored and who can see it

When you submit an enquiry through this website, it's saved to a secure database and sent to us as an email alert so we can call you back quickly. To run that, we use a small number of trusted service providers — a website host, a database provider, an email delivery service and a job-tracking tool. They store and transmit the information on our behalf and can't use it for their own purposes.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Beyond that, we only disclose your details where it's necessary for the job — for example to a supplier ordering a part, or where we're required to by law.

Keeping it safe, and how long we keep it

Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to run the business, and the systems we use are password-protected and encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

We keep enquiry records while they're useful for quoting and follow-up, and we keep records of completed work for as long as required for warranty, tax and licensing purposes — generally around seven years. After that we delete or de-identify them.

Accessing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 0432 292 371 or email SWPlumbing73@gmail.com and we'll action it, usually within a few business days. There's no charge. We may need to keep some job records where the law requires it, and we'll tell you if that's the case.

Cookies

This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser may store basic technical data needed to load the pages, and that's it.

If you think we've mishandled your information, contact us first on 0432 292 371 — we'd rather sort it out directly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
